Momentum is real at Oshkosh United’s year-round training and learning home.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Oshkosh United Soccer Club Announces New Indoor Training Facility, 'The Lab,' in Downtown Oshkosh OSHKOSH, Wis. May 5, 2025 — Oshkosh United Soccer Club is proud to announce it has leased the former Rhyme building (641 N. Main Street, Oshkosh, WI) from the Hoopman Foundation, with plans to transform the space into a high-level indoor training facility. The working name of the facility is The Lab. Located in downtown Oshkosh, the building will be repurposed into a year-round, climate-controlled training space that will provide athletes with opportunities to continue their development regardless of the weather. The new facility will include a turf area for training, space for individual or small group technical and tactical instruction and a film room for game analysis. “This is an exciting step forward for our club,” said Matt Callahan, Director of Coaching for Oshkosh United Soccer Club. “Having a dedicated indoor training space will allow players to grow their skills in a consistent and supportive environment while keeping them active throughout the year.” Hoopman Foundation, which owns the former Rhyme building, expressed enthusiasm for the new partnership. “Growing up in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, sports played such a huge part in my formative years. The Hoopman Foundation is excited to be able to help support a program that provides that same experience to today’s youth. Partnering with Oshkosh United to create a year-round space where kids can work to improve their soccer skills should be a great asset to the Oshkosh community,” said Hoopman Foundation CEO Eric Hoopman. Renovation work will begin in the coming weeks, with plans to open the facility in phases starting later this year. Updates and information about the project will be available on the Oshkosh United Soccer Club website and social media platforms. For more information, please contact: info@oshkoshunited.com

United Soccer Families, I am excited to announce that Oshkosh United is adding game recording/analysis to our Select and Elite teams!! United has purchased a Veo camera which is an automated camera that films the entire field at once using two 4K lenses. After the game the footage is uploaded to the Veo servers and artificial intelligence is used to splice the footage together to create a video that follows the play. Families can watch the video on the Veo platform. Check out this video for an overview of Veo and a brief introduction to the Veo online platform that is used to watch the game film: https://youtu.be/to-d4PWgPLU . Below are a few notes about Veo: At this point, we have 10 "teams" on the Veo platform. Age groups that have multiple teams will all be in the same account. Videos of the games will be titled with the team name and the date of the game. We currently have one Veo camera. We will create a schedule for this spring to get as many games filmed as possible. If this goes well and families want more games filmed we can look at purchasing additional Veo cameras to increase the number of games we can record. Families have the ability to be in a "view only" account or an "edit" account. Families with an edit account have the ability to clip footage and download it. All U11-U14 players will be provided a "view" account and all U15 and older players will be provided an "edit" account. We have always strived to create a positive culture that fosters player development. Especially with younger players (U11/U12), please avoid spending long periods of time analyzing game film. Those age groups should be focusing more on skill development so spending a large amount of time being critical of play could quickly lead to a poor experience for a youth player. More info will be coming at the spring meeting on April 10th and I'll send a few updates as well as we get closer to the season. If you have any questions just let me know! Matt

We are very excited to announce that Oshkosh United is adding PlayMetrics to our club. PlayMetrics is club management software that will improve the user experience while also providing tools to improve club efficiency. PlayMetrics will be used for the following club functions: Registration - Mobile friendly registration which is a new feature Team communication - Will replace TeamSnap starting in the fall. As players are rostered in the management system they will automatically be put onto teams for the communication app. This will greatly improve club efficiency. Team scheduling - Will replace TeamSnap starting in the fall. Fields are scheduled within a field scheduler and then the practice schedules will automatically be pushed out to all the clubs. This will save every team rep time in that they won't have to manually enter in the practices anymore. Tryout offers and acceptance - This will now be done through PlayMetrics as opposed to mail merge spreadsheets. This will improve club efficiency and will be a one stop shop for families. Players will register in PlayMetrics, receive their offer from PlayMetrics and then accept that offer within the PlayMetrics app as well. No more email responses or external spreadsheets to fill out. Coaches will have access to a library of practice activities. Our website will be hosted by PlayMetrics We will have the ability to provide player evaluations that will be tied to the player account and will be visible by all future coaches. All of our club functions will be tied to PlayMetrics. When you go into the app to see what the practice schedule is you might see that tryout registration is open. You can register or dismiss that notification until a later date. If you aren't sure if you registered, you can go into the app and easily see what you registered for. No more having multiple apps and multiple accounts, everything will be in one app which should greatly improve the user experience!!! Timeline of rollout: United Rec League - currently using for registration for the spring/summer season. Will begin to use immediately. Academy - will use for fall season registration and from that point forward Select/Elite - will use for tryout registration and from that point forward If you have any questions, just reach out! Matt
