Tryout Information

Oshkosh United holds tryouts in early June for Select (11U and older) teams. The "soccer year" runs from August 1st to July 31st so the June tryouts are for the following fall and spring seasons. Players that will only play in the spring still need to tryout during the June tryouts. The WI Youth Soccer Association determines the window of when we are able to hold tryouts and when we are able to offer roster spots to players. One of our core values is to provide the opportunity for an excellent soccer experience to as many players as possible. At United we make every effort to place all players that attend tryouts on a team. If we don't have enough open spots to place players we can work with families to try to find another club with an open spot. To further highlight our commitment to find a roster spot for each player, players not offered a roster spot will have their tryout fee refunded. 

General Information

• Players are placed on teams according to the date band of August 1st - July 31st. This will result in most players being on a team with their school grade level peers. Players with summer birthdays that are in an age group below their grade level peers will be allowed to play up.
• If possible, we will form multiple teams per age level and place the teams in a competition appropriate division to ensure the players have a developmentally appropriate and enjoyable experience. 
• All age groups will have two tryout days. The activities will be different on each day so players should attend both dates. 
• There is a $25 tryout fee which is paid if you register online on or before May 26th.  On May 27th the tryout fee will increase to $35. If you register before May 27th, the fee is originally going to show up as $35 and then you will receive $10 off during the checkout process for early bird registration.

Registration and Check-In

• Oshkosh United uses PlayMetrics for program registration, scheduling and communication. After clicking the "register for tryouts" button below you will be taken to an external site to create an account and sign up for tryouts. You can pay the $25 tryout fee online when registering. 
• All players should report to the tryout registration tent 15-20 minutes before their scheduled tryout time. Players will be checked in and given a numbered tryout pinnie to be worn during the tryout process. 
• It is strongly recommended that any new players to United be accompanied by a parent to assist with tryout registration.

Tryout Schedule: 2026 Fall and 2027 Spring Teams

Players that are U10 could register to play in the Academy or they could register for the U11 program. Typically if a U11 player plays in the Select program they would stay on an U11 team until they become a U12 player and move to a U12 team. If your child is a U10 player and you want them to tryout, when you go to add a program to your cart you may have multiple options. Select the option to register for "Tryouts". Can't Make Tryouts?

Players that are not able to attend tryouts still need to register for tryouts. The best case scenario is for a player to be evaluated next to the players they are competing with for team placement. While not ideal, if a player is unable to attend the regularly scheduled tryout times they have a few options:

• Attend a tryout for a similar age group  
• Attend a training session of an Oshkosh United team
• If the player is a current United player, the season coach can write up an evaluation (Used when a player is injured)

Email tryouts@oshkoshunited.com if your child is not able to make a tryout session. The tryout fee is still the same regardless of the tryout type.
